Teaching Philosophy

Teaching is a rewarding profession as it enables me to influence future generations in positive ways; creating life long learners, independent thinkers, risk-takers, principled individuals, open-minded and knowledgeable people that will eventually make a difference in the society they live.  I am the “guide on the side” helping my students to independently investigate, and inquire.

I provide a technology rich learning environment, which is integrated in meaningful ways to support and improve the learning that takes place.  This environment, allows me to act as a facilitator, allows my students natural curiosity to direct their learning in a way that best fits their individual learning styles and promotes collaboration amongst all participants in the learning community.

Open and honest communication creates a comfortable atmosphere that promotes respect for all things and all people and allows my students to thrive.  It is my duty to share with my students my love of learning and provide opportunities to work with others to solve problems, create, and share their understandings.

A wise man once said, “Regard man as a mine rich in gems of inestimable value, education can, alone, cause it to reveal its treasures, and enable mankind to benefit therefrom.”  As a teacher, I am the miner helping my students to discover the gems they possess inside. Ultimately, they will become productive members of society, internationally minded individuals who, think before they act and consider others as members of one team working for the betterment of the world in which they live.
